Over the last month the Hubble Town questline has received numerous updates, quality-of-life improvements, and new characters! Here’s a quick look into the story so far and what you can expect coming soon!

Into a New World… Your Tutorial to Ticuto

Into a New World is our new tutorial quest following the player through a series of rooms with challenges. You find yourself appearing in a wheat field outside of Hubble Town. With the help of Astra and a few other characters, you learn to gather materials, craft tools, interact with NPCs, and discover weird eggs with legs.

Previously, it was up to the player to figure out how to craft items, use tools, and find NPCs. Over the last year there’s been tremendous quality-of-life updates to resolve most of these pain points, and the guided tutorial is another great method for introducing gameplay features to new players (for example – breaking crates with an axe). Did we also mention you get a free, exclusive item by completing this quest?

Settling in & Meeting Hubble Town

Once you’ve made it back to Hubble Town, it’s time to settle in! Astra helps you learn about the new Hubble Town Hall and the characters there. You’re then given a free space voucher, redeemable at the Estate Agent to get started with your own place! Afterwards, you then get to meet residents of Hubble Town and learn more about them and what they do in town.

The free space voucher provides new players with a place to call theirs. It also provides a place to place furniture received during adventures in Ticuto, including a free quest item! Previously, new players needed to earn enough gold for a space, and find quests or resources to earn the gold. While this is still the case, gold is easier to earn early on and NPCs and quests are now more visible.

Repairing the Hubble Flipper & Accepting Bulletin Requests

Once the player has their free space and has learned about the Bulletin Board, Skip has a request! His boat, the Hubble Flipper, is in need of repair. Once you’ve hit this point as a player, the main questline is more about worldbuilding and story. This includes learning about the temporal eggs in town and Dr. Tuto’s sought-after time crystals. We plan to expand on worldbuilding and NPC interactivity in the future in the form of expanded dialog, side quests, and through other methods, so keep an eye out for that going forward!

Building up for a Crystal Adventure

Preparing for a Treacherous Ride is the latest quest to have been rewritten for the Hubble main questline. This quest aims to be a way for players to show understanding of the game. For example, if you’re unsure of how to use crafting tables, you won’t do well in the Astralei questline when you need to make Stardust for example. If you’re unfamiliar with mining or unsure on how to make a tool, you won’t do well in a dark rock-covered maze when your pickaxe breaks! This further allows us to focus on delivering story content and challenges in quests without needing to give the player what they need upfront.

Where We’re Going

Currently, the main questline currently sits at 10 unique quests. We feel the next steps are to reintroduce the Time Crystal Island adventure with Dr. Tuto and Skip and have the player navigate to Astralei once more. For existing players, you may be familiar with how the questline ends – a trip to a remote island to retrieve a Time Crystal unlocks Astralei. We’re hoping to expand this adventure significantly to introduce new challenges and trials for the player to complete. Further, we have plans to introduce new story elements which includes a brand new character for the player to meet. All players will be required to complete these new quests to get back to Astralei. 

Smaller Updates Coming Soon

To keep Ticuto an interesting place to explore, smaller content updates will be releasing weekly. These smaller updates may be for items, spaces, side quests, or other small-form content that gives players something to do. These smaller content updates do not take away much time from developing out the next big update, and if anything provide you all with news of progress, development, and stuff to do.

Important Note Regarding Astralei

Following the release of the new Hubble quests, Astralei will be temporarily unavailable for some time. This world will be reintroduced with new content, quests, characters, and a brand new storyline. Progress towards this new Astralei is going well and we’re excited to share more news in the near future. Our aim is to keep Astralei available as long as possible, so downtime will be less than 2 months. The reintroduction of Astralei will really make the world feel unique and more feature-rich than it is now.
