🎣 Fishing Update Live Now 🎣
The wait is over. Grab your rods, because the Fishing Update is officially live in Ticuto!
From relaxing casts to skill based catches, fishing brings a brand new layer to your adventure. In this update, we’ll dive into everything you need to know, how it works, where to start, and what await beneath the surface.
🐟 Unlocking Fishing
To begin your fishing journey, you’ll first need to reach Level 3.
Once you’ve hit that milestone, head over to the Bulletin Board just outside the Town Hall, where Barney will have a series of introductory quests waiting for you. These quests are designed to teach you the basics of fishing and get you comfortable with the mechanics.
As a reward, Barney will provide you with your very first fishing rod.
Completing his questline doesn’t just stop there, though. Finishing the quest Hook, Line… or Something will unlock access to more rods available for purchase at Finn’s Shop, allowing you to improve your fishing capabilities as you progress.
🌊 Fishing Mechanics
Once you’ve learned the basics and you’re ready to begin you fishing, you can cast your line into any body of water across Ticuto. From freshwater lakes to open ocean shores, each biome features its own selection of fish, with a balanced rarity distribution and rewards to match.
When a fish bites, the action begins. A short minigame will appear where you’ll need to guide the fish within a moving box and push it up to the top. It’s inspired by Stardew Valley’s system, but designed to be more accessible and easy to pick up.
Keep the fish under control, reach the top, and just like that, your catch is secured.

🪧 Catch Of The Day Challenges
Just outside Finn’s Shop, you’ll spot a board similar to the Bulletin Board. This is where the Catch of the Day challenges are posted.
Each day, a specific fish is selected. Catch it, bring it in, and you’ll earn a reward. Miss your chance, and that fish is gone until it rotates back in.
It’s a simple system, but one that rewards consistency, exploration, and knowing exactly where to cast your line.
🐠 Fish Collection
At launch, there are 34 fish and sea creatures waiting to be discovered. This ranges from common, everyday catches to rarer finds like Lobster, Octopus, and the elusive Coelacanth.
But fishing isn’t just about what’s swimming beneath the surface.
Every now and then, you’ll reel in something unexpected, old shoes, scraps, and other bits of junk that have found their way into the water. Not every catch is glamorous, but it all adds to the experience.
And occasionally, something far more intriguing appears.
Messages in a bottle can be uncovered while fishing. These aren’t just simple collectibles, they can trigger full treasure hunts, sending you across the world to remote islands in search of hidden rewards.

🎖️ New Acheivements
Fishing introduces 25 new achievements tied to progression, rarity, and exploration. Whether you’re working towards completing every collection or chasing down the rarest catches, there’s now a clear set of milestones to guide your journey and reward your progress.
🫧 Conclusion
Biomes, travel, and item discovery all influence what you can catch, making every location feel meaningful. Even features like treasure maps and exploration routes tie directly into fishing, reinforcing that it’s not a standalone activity, but a natural extension of the wider world.
This is just the beginning for fishing in Ticuto.
We’re already planning future expansions, including a dedicated quality of life update that will refine the experience and introduce even more depth. Expect improvements that make fishing more rewarding, more engaging, and with new ways to compete as the system continues to grow.
